105.7 the X Spring Fling | Concert

Thursday was the 105.7 the X Tec-e-cig Spring Fling at the Peoria Civic Center! We had Stone Sour, Papa Roach, Sick Puppies, In this Moment, and All that Remains rockin’ the stage! It was an awesome show, plus I got to meet 4/5 bands at the meet and greet, as well as Corey Taylor for his interview with Matt Bahan. Yeah, I love my life! It was a long, exhausting day, but I had so much fun! I cannot wait until our next batch of concerts coming up in July!

My good friend Troy volunteered to let me shoot him quite some time ago, but then he had to go out to California for the semester and intern for Conan O’Brien. Couldn’t blame him, though, ’cause that’s an awesome opportunity! He was back in Peoria recently to graduate from Bradley and we found some time to go up to Bradley Park and get some shots.

I thought it was only fair to make a blog post with some of my favorites of Diego, too! He is cute, but restless. He’s definitely a challenge to photograph whenever I try. Although, he did amazing in the black and white film I did last year. The one I included as the featured image on this post is still one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken.

WANTED: Class of ’14 Senior Reps

I am currently looking for 2014 Senior Reps from the Peoria Area high schools! This includes Limestone, East Peoria, Pekin, Peoria Heights, Dunlap, Notre Dame, Richwoods, Central, Washington, and Morton. What exactly is a senior rep? A senior rep is someone who is outgoing and comfortable in front of the camera. They appreciate photography and are eager to share their photos with others. A maximum of 2 senior reps from each school will be selected and if chosen, you agree to work exclusively with me for your senior photos.

What’s in it for you? Well, for each booking referred from you, you get 10% off your senior session. So if you refer 10 bookings, your session is free! After that, you’ll get other prizes like free wallets and proof books! If you refer 15 bookings, you will be automatically entered to win an 16GB wifi iPad Mini! Senior Reps will also be the first ones I turn to for any creative shoots I come up with throughout the year, so that’s even more free photos for you!

All you have to do is be enthusiastic about your photos and promote Kirsten Krupps Photography! You will receive a free mini session in the spring with photos to use on social media, as well as referral cards with photos from the session and a discount to those who use it to book with me. Senior reps will only use Kirsten Krupps Photography for their senior portraits.

Lola | Pet Sessions

My furbaby, Lola, is probably my most photographed subject. She’s actually a pretty good model! She’ll sit and even pose after she’s had a few minutes to sniff around and get used to the surroundings. I thought it’d be nice to put together some of my all time favorite photos of her! I know I’m biased, but I think she’s adorable and photogenic. These range over 2011 until now. Check ‘em out!

Zoe and I have been trying to do a shoot together forever, but our schedules always clashed. This past weekend, though, we both happened to be free. We headed downtown and just had a fun, quick shoot. Zoe was pretty much a natural in front of the camera, so that definitely made my life easier. Hopefully we can shoot again and hopefully soon!

Millionaires, Ashland High, Lancifer | Concert

The Millionaires

This past Wednesday I went to Joliet, IL to see the Millionaires, Ashland High, Lancifer, and more! The Millionaires make the perfect music to let loose and dance to. They’re badass chicks, but real sweethearts. Love them and have been a fan since the good ol’ Myspace days! Ashland High (Trace Cyrus aka Miley’s brother aka the singer from Metro Station) was good, too! I was super pumped when he did ‘Shake It’. I had not heard of Lancifer prior to this show, but I can safely say that I love him now! He’s like if 3OH!3 and Ke$ha had a baby. Go listen to Bring Your Bass (Let’s Drop It). You won’t be disappointed.

I was tempted to bring my 5D, but I wasn’t sure how the venue would be about cameras, so I opted for my Nex 7. It did a pretty good job! It impresses me each time I use it. It was small and compact, yet took the quality photos that I’m looking for.

Took some more photos of Shannon! The weather was too nice to pass up a shoot. Shannon’s always great to take photos of! I love the results of our last-minute shoot. Goes to show you that just grabbing some cute, simple clothes and a relaxed attitude can yield great photos.

August & Sanibel | Pet Session

August and Sanibel part II! We got some cute ones of the dogs with some proper bribing from treats and toys. Pets can be tough and test one’s patience for pictures, but it’s definitely worth it! I’m looking forward to more pet sessions.
